ON CYBER CRIME LAW

ON CYBER CRIME LAW.

On the topic of the successive blatant hacking attacks done by the group ANONYMOUS PHILIPPINES on the Philippines Govt. Websites.  My initial reaction was a glee so strong it was almost crippling. I was awe struck on how this group revealed themselves and showed their genius and potential just when the country needed it, when the rulers of the government are all being stupid and being self-centered bigots. Let’s face it, if the senators can conjure up laws without much thought, laws designed only to protect themselves and if said senators just sign the mucking law without reading the contents, well, they begin being stupid and stop being “for the people”, which ironically was why the country men actually buggered themselves to patiently endure the long line and sweltering heat just to be able to vote. On my part, that such a capable body as the Anonymous Philippines actually exists seemed like a good omen of some sort, a good proof that we Filipinos can be exceedingly intelligent and strong and powerful. That Filipinos could be geniuses and up to par with the other countries even if it’s about something criminal such as hacking certainly boosts moral pride. It’s actually an extreme ambitious feat. See, this group even issued threats to China for assuming ownership over one of the Philippines’’ islands; since China was obviously bullying our country and treating us as their inferior, Anonymous Philippines felt they had to do something. They may be some sort of criminals but when they wreak havoc, they do so in the right direction. Instead of issuing attacks on the Phil. Govt. Websites for the Cyber Crime Law, they could’ve used up their abilities hacking other private organizations and demanding ransoms had they chose to. No. They decided they wanted to represent the oppressed citizens instead. That is well bloody amazing. So far, what they were doing is sinfully sweet. They’ve got guts and confidence that whatever it is they were doing, they could pull it off without being caught, or with the risk of being caught.

My second reaction arose from my sister’s off handed remark, “But what about those innocent civilians who cannot access the hacked websites when they needed to?”. True. That’s another perspective on the things that actually are. In this ongoing cyber war, some are hit with friendly fire, some innocents who actually don’t care about the internet-political-thingy, who just wanted to get on with their everyday lives are being victimized and sabotaged. But see, that is why I’ve said that the ANONYMOUS PHILIPPINES are criminals. I wasn’t treating them as heroes. I salute their cause and abilities but I don’t really see them as ones on the side of the angels. No. They remain anonymous precisely because they know they are doing something unlawful. Hacking is never justified, maybe unless you’re with some sort of formal organization such as CIA or something. But I’m still amazed at their integrity and they are actually following through with their threats which isn’t something most people do nowadays. Some people who are only all talk without actions, only full of excuses. So then, nation, as the ANONYMOUS PHIL always says, “LET’s EXPECT THEM.”

Another good thing I wanted to mention is the fact that CYBER CRIME LAW has finally, finally reached SXEPHIL. Been waiting for this to happen. Sotto and the senators should feel proud that their dumbness reached such an intl video blogger that lots and lotssss of people follow. ^^ MABUHAY!!
